Volunteering Information
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Parents Auxiliary. If you have questions about or would like to volunteer to help Parents Auxiliary functions, please email Cassandra Regan at cassr@nymaparentsauxiliary.com. When emailing to volunteer, please be sure to indicate the activity and date you would like to volunteer for as well as the best phone number to reach you at. Expressing your interest to volunteer/chaperone early greatly assists us in providing appropriate supervision for our activities. It also ensures a phone call should the event need to be cancelled or postponed.
February Volunteer Opportunities:
1. Skiing Chaperone - There are 3 Skiing at West Point days scheduled: Fri Feb 12, Sun Feb 21, Sun Feb 28. Cadets will depart from NYMA at 12:45 pm on the Sunday Ski Days (2:00 pm on the Friday) and will leave the ski area at 4:00 pm (9:00 pm on the Friday). The cost for a lift ticket is $13 ($22 on the Friday). Cost for equipment rental is $24 (skis, boots and poles). Please email no later than 6 pm the Friday before your desired day to chaperone (no later than 6pm Thurs Feb 11 for the Fri skiing).
2. Ice Skating Chaperone - There are 2 Ice Skating at Bear Mountain days scheduled: Sun Feb 21, Sun Feb 28. Cadets will depart from NYMA at 12:45 pm and will leave the ice skating area at 3:30 pm. The fee for ice skating chaperones is $5. Skate rental is $4/pr. The fee for non-skating chaperones is $2. The rink is outdoors and uncovered so dress appropriately. Lockers and refreshments are available. Please email no later than 6 pm the Friday before your desired day to chaperone.
3. Valentine's Dance Chaperone - Fri Feb 19 9 pm - 11 pm. Valentine Dance will be held in Donaldson Lodge for grades 9-12. Chaperones will serve snacks and drinks. Assistance will be needed for decorating and planning.
4. Bowling Chaperones - There are 2 bowling days scheduled: Sun Feb 14, Sun Feb 21. Cadets will depart NYMA at 1:30 pm and will leave the bowling alley at 4 pm. If you would like to bowl as a chaperone, the cost is $10 (includes shoe rental, a slice of pizza & soda and 2 hours of bowling). Please email no later than 6 pm the Friday before your desired day to chaperone.
5. Lounge Night Chaperones - Fri Feb 26 7 pm - 9 pm. Lounge Night will be held in Donaldson Lodge for grades 9-12. Cadets attending will have opportunity to dance to their iPod DJ'd music, play games and enjoy snacks and beverages provided and served by the Parents Auxiliary. We are looking for assistance in planning this event as well as chaperoning on the night of.

March Volunteer Opportunities:
1. Cosmic Bowling Chaperones - Fri Mar 3, depart from NYMA at 8:45pm, depart from Bowling Time at 11pm. If you would like to bowl as a chaperone, the cost is $10 (includes shoe rental and 2 hours of bowling). Cadets/chaperones are responsible for their own refreshments. Please email no later than 6 pm the Thursday Mar 4 if you would like to chaperone.
2. Movie Night in Scarborough- We will be hosting two movie nights in the Scarborough Hall Auditorium: Sat Mar 6 and Fri Mar 18. Movies will begin at approx 8 pm. Volunteers are needed to help set up and serve refreshments throughout the movie. Please email no later than 6pm the day before your desired day to volunteer.
